Skiing

 

Skiing in Auli offers beautiful views of peaks such as Mt Nanda Devi Kamet, Mana Parwat, Dunagiri, Beethartoli, Nilkanth, Hathi Parbat, Ghori Parbat and Nar Parbat. The snow-covered hill station of Auli covered with evergreen conifers and the oak forest is located at high altitude.

While skiing in Auli in the Gorson Reserve forest (part of the Nanda Devi National Park) is habituated by some of the widely rare Himalayan wildlife in ample. These include snow Leopard, Musk Deer, Wild Boar, Wild Cat, Wild Rabbit, Jackal, Fox, Hyena and Bear. Trishul Peak

The three Himalayan mountain peaks of western Kumaun as a whole form the Trishul peak with a height of 7120m. The peak can be best viewed from Kausani or during the Roopkund Trek.

 

Auli Ropeway

 

The cable ride also known as a Gondola in Auli is the second highest and the longest cable car ride in Asia after Gulmarg. Covering a total distance of 4 km, the journey starts at Joshimath and ends at Auli, and takes a total time of around 24 min. Enjoy the sensual and majestic views of surroundings while on the ropeway.

Auli Artificial lake

 

One of the world’s highest man-made lakes, Auli Lake was created by snow added to the ski slopes during the offseason. In turn, the water from the lake is used to feed the artificial snow system stationed along the ski slopes and extending the ski season. Located at an elevation of 3000 m, it is also known for its stunning views. An hour in the evening at the lake will surely make you forgive all the stress.

 

Gurso bugyal

 

Gorson Bugyal is a beautiful meadow, just 3 km from Auli Uttarakhand. Lined with trees, it is a popular trekking destination from the town. You can try trek uphill but ensure that you come back by evening as there are no options available to stay at Gurson. During the spring season, camping can be done on the lush green grass blankets. But for those planning to go in winter, the path gets tough to scale and a guide is essential. You can also visit the nearby Chattarkund Lake, famous for its sweet waters.
